Details of the 6 Days Wildebeest Migration safari

Day 1 of the 6 days wildebeest migration safari: Transfer from Arusha to Ngorongoro Crater

Our RAK safaris driver guide will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha and drive you to the Ngorongoro Conservation area.  Check into your lodge and have lunch after which you will descend over 600 meters into the crater where you will visit Lake Magadi and view lots of flamingoes and hippos. Whilst on the afternoon game drive; possible sightings may include: zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, elephants, cheetah, hyenas, lions, jackals, and if you are lucky even a leopard.

Day 2 of the 6 days wildebeest migration safari: Transfer from Ngorongoro to Serengeti

Leave Ngorongoro after breakfast and drive to the lobo area of Serengeti plains where the wildebeest migration normally passes every July to August enroute to Masai Mara.  On arrival check into your lodge, have lunch after which you will enjoy an afternoon game drive in the park

Day 03 of the 6 days wildebeest migration safari: Full day Game Drives in the Serengeti plains

You will have breakfast then pack your lunch and head to the Grumeti river area to view non migrating game like the gazelle, lion, elephant, buffalo, and cheetah. Spend the entire day on game drives in the lobo area and banks of the Grumeti river where you will view birds like the African fish eagle and kingfishers.

Day 04 of the 6 days wildebeest migration safari: Game Drive in Northern Serengeti
After breakfast drive to Wagakuria in northern Serengeti with a game drive enroute. On your way to the Wagakuria area enjoy a game drive. You will view giraffe, buffalo and elephants enroute arriving in time for lunch at your lodge. You can watch the wildebeest migration here because herds of wildebeest cross the Mara River here.

Day 05 of the 6 days wildebeest migration safari: Game Drives in Northern Serengeti
This area is a wildlife paradise in August, September and October because of the Mara River. After breakfast enjoy a full day game drive in the northern Serengeti specifically Wagakuria area. Expect to encounter huge prides of lion, kopjes and depending on the season, wildebeest as they attempt to cross the river.

Day 06 of the 6 days wildebeest migration safari: Transfer from Northern Serengeti to Arusha
You will have your breakfast, check out of your lodge, and then enjoy a game drive as you transfer to the airstrip to board your flight to Arusha. Your safari ends with arrival at your hotel in Arusha
